About Me.

Hi, I’m Michelle! I am a certified personal trainer and Precision Nutrition Level 1 coach who has worked with clients one-on-one in person, in classes and small groups, and through online coaching and virtual classes for over thirteen years. I am also a mom and wife, I compete in Powerlifting, and I have a deep love for reading, watching movies and being outdoors. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio, but started my career in New York City, where, after working in advertising for 7 years, I discovered that my own passion for fitness and helping other people was my true calling. I have taught many different exercise formats and obtained advanced certifications along the way (including the ACE Pre/Post-Natal Certification, RKC Level 1 Kettlebell, Functional Movement Screening Level 1, and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization Techniques Level 1), and worked with many different types of people through the years, from competitive athletes to those who are returning to exercise after injury, to weekend warriors, senior citizens, new parents, and those looking to lose weight and build strength.

One of my areas of focus as coach has centered on the importance of learning about core and pelvic floor disorders (stemming from either pregnancy, faulty movement patterns or competitive sports) when it comes to training both women and men. I am especially passionate about re-building core stability and establishing proper breathing and movement patterns, which will allow you to get stronger and improve or eliminate your symptoms.

I jokingly refer to myself as “The People’s Coach,” because I have I have personally experienced so many of the same struggles that YOU are facing when you decide to work with me. From having pelvic floor issues after my son was born, to experiencing postpartum anxiety and body image struggles, to being diagnosed with Hashimoto’s hypothyroidism after my daughter’s birth, to the frustration of trying to find some semblance of work/life balance after having kids in order to fit in exercise, to trying various elimination diets to lose weight…I’ve been through it all.

I have also become stronger physically and mentally in my late 30’s than I ever have been in my entire life because I discovered a love for the sport of Powerlifting, something I was never brave enough to do in my younger years because I used to worry what other people would think of me and I never felt “good enough.” I finally understand training for performance rather than just trying to shrink my body or my jeans size, and I can relate to those who compete in sports for the sheer joy of it.

I’m a better coach for you because I learned to take better care of myself; working on mindset, setting boundaries and continuing to educate myself on training and nutrition. You deserve to prioritize yourself, too, and I’m here to help with that. Whether you’re a new mom who wants to return to exercise but doesn’t know where to begin, a busy dad who is all work and no play, an after-school activity shuffler who needs help with nutrition, or you want to train and finish an ultra-marathon, I can help. Let’s chat about your goals, because YOU matter.

Finally, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention some of my sources of inspiration and education along the way. In the realm of pelvic floor health and function specifically, I owe a great deal of credit to to work of Jessie Mundell, Brianna Battles, Dr. Sarah Duvall, Julie Wiebe and the Girls Gone Strong. I highly encourage you to check out these amazing women who offer tremendous resources and provide a lot of knowledge to so many coaches in this arena.

In the field of strength and conditioning, Dave Tate of Elite FTS, Chris Duffin of Kabuki Strength, Joe DeFranco and Dr. John Rusin have inspired me immensely and provided endless resources and education through the years, via in-person seminars and voraciously reading everything they write and publish online. Dr. Kristin Lander of Fiercely Fueled Nutrition and Female Strength Academy, and Cody McBroom of Tailored Coaching Method have provided me with support, coaching and expertise in the field of nutrition.
